Truly an urban mall, the Gallery at Market East is conveniently located within minutes of such historic sites as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the National Constitution Center as well as the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

The Gallery provides a welcome respite from sightseeing, especially during the sometimes hot and steamy Philadelphia summers.

The Gallery at Market East consists of 170 stores spread out on four floors around a glass atrium. Philadelphia's favorite department store, Strawbridge's, serves as one of the anchors and there's also a JC Penney and two-story K-Mart store. The remainder of the stores are the usual mall

shops and the food court boasts more than two dozen snack bars/fast food restaurants for a quick bite to eat.

Because the Gallery is located so close to sites and downtown hotels, it's a perfect place to purchase a souvenir, buy a sweatshirt or raingear for a sudden change in weather, or pick up an item or two you may have left at home.

The Gallery is a favorite stomping ground for locals on their lunch breaks and is conveniently connected to the city's elevated train line, making access to the mall even easier.
