Though it's touted as a local, hometown theater, the Media Theatre for the Performing Arts is indeed the home of a nationally-recognized professional musical theatre company. The mission of the company is "to promote and nurture the imagination, diversity and joy unique to musical theater by the production of new and classic works."

The Media Theatre, easily accessible from Center City Philadelphia, has offered audiences high-quality productions for the last several decades. The theater's annual calendar features about a half-dozen Broadway productions each year in addition to a children's theatre series and a number of concerts by local and nationally-known artists.

The Media Theatre for the Performing Arts also boasts its own theatre school and a children's summer theatre camp. Recently, the theatre has combined dinner and a show, offering a pre-theatre buffet for patrons of Wednesday and Thursday evening performances.
