The Adventure Aquarium in Philadelphia is the old New Jersey Aquarium that has gone through a $40 million renovation. This project has turned the tiny NJ State Aquarium into the new state-on-the-art 200,000 square foot Adventure Aquarium. Nearly two years in the making, this new aquarium will host 6,000 specimens representing more than 450 species.
Visitors will be able to view the sights and hear the sounds of the marine and animal world in a barrier-free environment, designed so that visitors can get up-close and personal with the animals.
Located on the Camden, NJ waterfront, the new building becomes part of a vast entertainment complex being built in that area to entice visitors to the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. The aquarium promises to be the centerpiece of the complex, with its attractive new structure and features and exhibits that have never been attempted in the zoo or aquarium world.
Guests can also visit the Feeding Frenzy Cafe for a delicious bite to eat and there are plenty of souvenirs to take home after a memorable visit to the Adventure Aquarium. |
