Philadelphia‘s Nockamixon Park is a 5,283-acre park nestled in the woods of Quakertown. It surrounds the 1, 450-acre Lake Nockamixon, a mecca for fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities. While swimming is not permitted in Lake Nockamixon, a half-acre pool complete with two water slides, a children‘s area, and a snack bar is available for your little swimmers. Threemiles of trails through the forest are also available for those who want a little more adventure.

Nockamixon Park is a year-round park, offering summer fun like boating and fishing, as well as winter sports such as sledding and ice skating.

A youth hostel is available for weary travelers, as are cabins that can be rented year-round.

Fishing and boating are available twenty-four hours a day, while other attractions in the park are typically available from sunrise to sunset. For a quiet day in the wilderness, or a fun-filled day outdoors, this park has something for everyone!
